A small, locally owned bistro, Centro on the Square pairs the comfort of an American neighborhood restaurant with Italian touches. Pastas, meatballs, steaks and seafood are made in-house, with seasonal ingredients from area farms, and the room works as well for wine and small plates as for a full dinner.
It sits at 112 East Louisiana, in the 100 block, marked H15 on the printed downtown map and about a minute's walk from the historic courthouse. Arabella's, McKinney Art Gallery and Balise Salon are close by, which makes dinner here easy to fold into an evening downtown.
