The journey that led to Fontina Ristorante began with the owners’ experience in restaurants worldwide. Modanna and Ray Ehtesbi first met at Ray’s original Italian restaurant in Germany. That restaurant played a serendipitous role in their connection, igniting a shared passion for food.

While venturing into various culinary concepts, the allure of Italian cuisine remained their focus. After managing some restaurant concepts in California and working 15-hour days, they set out to find a change of pace and find a city that would offer a better quality of life. They set their eyes on Texas. After visiting a few towns it was love at first sight when they visited McKinney. The choice was evident when they experienced the old-town charm and vibrant atmosphere of the historic downtown.

II. A blank canvas on the square

The building that now houses Fontina Ristorante was a blank canvas, inspiring the owners to infuse it with their unique vision. With an eye for design, they created a nostalgic ambiance, accentuated by exposed brick walls and greenery. Free from distractions, the space encourages guests to focus on companionship and savor their exquisite dishes.

III. Fontina offers generational culinary excellence

Fontina Ristorante values creating an intimate dining experience, treating guests like extended family.
