Today, Lone Star Winery is guided by Becky Ross Dunphy and her husband Jon Dunphy, who have poured their hearts and souls into this family business. Lone Star Winery was established in 2003 and opened its doors to the public in April 2004, marking April 1st as its official birthday.  Lone Star Winery's roots trace back to the original founders, Ron and Deanna Ross, who envisioned a space where wine lovers could gather and indulge in the finest Texan wines. Nestled within the historic Ritz Theater Building, Lone Star Winery became the pioneer winery in downtown, drawing crowds even amid McKinney's dry days. Becky fondly recalls the early years, where Lone Star Winery served as a beacon for wine aficionados, offering a haven in a town where alcohol procurement was limited.
